MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — Middle Tennessee State University students and faculty from the Recording Industry Department have returned home after wrapping up their time in Los Angeles for the 68th annual Grammy Awards, marking the program’s 12th consecutive trip tied to the music industry’s biggest week. The annual visit gives students the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of former classmates while networking with alumni and industry professionals.
While no MTSU alumni took home a Grammy trophy this year, the university hosted alumni, former students and music industry leaders during its annual pre-Grammy celebration, held over the weekend at The Godfrey Hotel in Hollywood. The event served as a reunion and networking hub for MTSU graduates now working throughout the entertainment industry.
“Big-time programs are present at big-time events,” MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee said, noting the importance of celebrating alumni success while connecting current students and faculty with leaders in the recording industry.
