EASTERN IOWA (Iowa’s News Now) — Some of you may remember it well, the powerful winter storm that brought heavy snowfall amounts and strong winds between January 31 and February 2, 2011.
As snow started to fall, visibility dropped to 1/4 mile or less in many places. Blizzard conditions quickly developed because of the combination of heavy snow and strong winds.
Snowfall totals in Eastern Iowa reached a foot or more in many places.
Crippling wind gusts of 40 to 60 mph only worsened the Blizzard conditions that were already ongoing…
