Second Tarrant County inmate escapes custody in as many days

A second inmate escaped the custody of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office in as many days, apparently emboldened by an attempted escape the day before, the sheriff says.

Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn said a trustee inmate working at a low-security laundry facility decided to leave his job detail Tuesday afternoon.

Waybourn said the inmate, identified as Victor Castillo, left the facility on the 5400 block of Resource Drive at about 12:45 p.m. and was returned to custody about 40 minutes later…
