McLaurin High School’s counseling program was honored as the Middle School Counseling Program of the Year by the Mississippi Counseling Association (MCA) in 2025, highlighting its innovative strategies for student development.
The Rankin County School District (RCSD) also recognized these programs at its December Board of Directors Meeting. The Elementary School Counseling Program of the Year was awarded to Melissa Harrist and Melissa Frazier of McLaurin Elementary; Middle School Counseling Program of the Year was presented to Mia McDonald of McLaurin High; Secondary School Counseling Program of the Year was awarded to Jennifer Green of Puckett High; and Clinical Mental Health Counselor of the Year was given to Dr. Lashaunda Smith of McLaurin High School…
