JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The mayor of Jackson will likely be calling on lawmakers to kill a bill creating a new water authority, saying the measure doesn’t give the city a majority stake in the authority’s governance.
“The mayor’s position is we are opposed to anything other than a majority control of the vote,” Jackson Director of Communications Nic Lott said. “We are advocating for the bill to be killed if we don’t have the majority.”
