New Orleans police recruit arrested by ICE identified, accused of being in U.S. illegally

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested a New Orleans Police Department recruit on Jan. 28, alleging he was in the country illegally and not authorized to carry a firearm.

ICE said Tuesday (Feb. 3) its agents arrested Larry Temah, 46, a native of Cameroon, who had been recruited by the New Orleans Police Department and issued a gun. ICE said Temah could not legally possess a weapon and did not have valid work authorization.

According to ICE, Temah entered the United States legally in 2015 on a visitor visa. In 2016, he was granted conditional residency after marrying a U.S. citizen.

However, his application for permanent residency was denied in 2022 due to fraud…
