Albuquerque Police Department Increases Officer Pay Under New Compensation Structure

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – The Albuquerque Police Department has implemented a new pay structure that raises wages for officers at all career stages. The updated rates took effect February 1, reflecting the department’s ongoing effort to improve recruitment and retention.

Under the new structure, police cadets now earn $30.75 per hour, while Police Officers 2/C, who are in their one‑year probationary period after graduating the academy, earn $31.49 per hour. Police Officers 1/C with one to four years of experience will receive $38.10 per hour, with additional longevity pay starting in year four at $3,900 annually.
