Springfield’s 2020 George Floyd protest: suit over 67th Street barricade moves forward

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A federal judge has ruled that the City of Springfield and its police officers can be held liable for officers’ alleged misconduct during a local 2020 George Floyd protest.

The lawsuit, filed in March 2021, alleges the city and police violated protesters’ free speech and protection against unreasonable search and seizure.
