A wolf that was recently detected near the Truckee area has now crossed into Nevada, according to the Nevada Department of Wildlife.
NDOW says the California Department of Fish and Wildlife notified them Monday morning that a GPS-collared wolf was detected in Nevada in the high-elevation Sierra Nevada. The animal was located north of Lake Tahoe, between Mount Rose and Mount Houghton, and remains well away from developed areas or communities. Wildlife officials say the wolf is currently moving through the northern portion of the Carson Range.
