Dr. Jared Ryan, Gilbert Public Schools assistant superintendent for teaching and learning, will become the district’s new superintendent this summer.
The GPS Governing Board at a special meeting Jan. 30 appointed Ryan to succeed Dr. Shane McCord, who is retiring at the end of the current school year after holding the position since 2017.
McCord’s announcement of his retirement last year had led to a national search for a successor and the board said Ryan turned out to be the best candidate…
