GAITHERSBURG, Md. (DC News Now) — Montgomery County police partnered with the FBI for a major international takedown of fraudsters accused of stealing more than $50 million from Americans.
The yearlong investigation led to the arrests of both foreign and domestic suspects involved in what authorities describe as an elaborate fraud scheme targeting vulnerable victims.
