What to know: Hendersonville votes on $10M transportation bond March 3

HENDERSONVILLE – North Carolina’s March 3 primary elections are now only a month away and a measure is on the ballot which, if approved, will allow the city of Hendersonville to borrow $10 million for major transportation infrastructure projects.

The $10 million would be matched by $900,000 per year from the city’s general fund from 2027-2031, for a total of $14.5 million going toward transportation infrastructure, the Times-News previously reported.

Of that, 57%, or $8.2 million, would go to repaving city streets, 17%, or $2.4 million, to Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps and 26%, or $3.7 million, to traffic safety features and other infrastructure improvements, according to a Feb. 3 city of Hendersonville flyer and previous Times-News reporting…
