Lantana Man Charged with Attempted Murder and Robbery After Lake Worth Beach Shooting

A Lantana man has been arrested on charges of attempted murder following a shooting incident in Lake Worth Beach, where he allegedly shot another man during an attempted robbery. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office stated that the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Maximo Ernesto Benitez, has been booked into Palm Beach County Jail, with law enforcement saying the incident unfolded just before midnight on January 19 near 4th Ave. South and South J Street after multiple 911 calls reported gunfire and a man’s cries for help, per reports from CBS12.
