Augusta cemetery receives $10K grant for Hurricane Helene recovery

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A historic Augusta cemetery is taking steps toward recovery more than a year after Hurricane Helene devastated the area’s tree canopy.

The Georgia Tree Council awarded a $10,000 grant to Fitten Street Cemetery through the Georgia Forestry Commission to help with reforestation and cleanup efforts.
