Charlotte, Triad and mountains
Our next storm system starts rolling in overnight with patchy rain. A cold rain is expected, on and off, through Wednesday afternoon. There will be a transition to snow with light accumulations of 1 to 2 inches possible near and north of Interstate 40 and for the High Country. That snow chance will end Thursday morning. Temperatures will be mild enough to melt most of that snow away Thursday afternoon. Anything left will be gone by Friday afternoon. We will then be drier with more typical temperatures through the weekend. Temperatures may go above average early next week.
