GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A former Michigan Adult Protective Services worker accused of defrauding several of the same elderly women he was tasked with protecting admitted to taking advantage of their vulnerable position, court documents show.
Derek Plumb, 40, was arraigned Tuesday on one court of embezzling more than $100,000 from a vulnerable adult and four counts of forging a document affecting real property. The charges stem from Plumb’s alleged monthslong scheme to defraud three elderly women and transfer the deeds of their homes to himself.

According to a court document obtained by News 8, Plumb met the three women he is accused of defrauding through his work at APS.
