Cumberland County man pleads guilty to tax evasion via skill machine operation

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A Cumberland County man has pleaded guilty to tax evasion via a skill machine operation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The office says Rick Goodling, 69, of Mechanicsburg, admitted to conspiring with others to underreport his taxable income in tax years 2019-2022 while working as a compliance officer with Pace-O-Matic, a “skill machine” company based in Georgia.

According to the DOJ, Goodling received cash payments from skill machine operatorsthroughout Pennsylvania, in return for allowing those operators to use Pace-O-Matic products against the company’s rules and regulations.
