Mobile County bait shop recovering after destructive fire

SATSUMA, Ala. (WKRG) — The owners of a popular bait shop in north Mobile County are slowly getting back in business weeks after a devastating fire.

Families can make memories for a lifetime fishing and just about every fishing trip starts with a stop at a bait shop.

In Late December, a fire destroyed Mount Vernon Outdoors. Today, rubble is all that’s left of the building. It’s owned by April Gunter, who runs it as a passion with her husband Josh.
