Mobile council signals support for $3.3 million funding plan for District Attorney

Mobile city officials signaled support Tuesday for spending up to $3.3 million over the next three years to help finance the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office.

The City Council is set to vote next Tuesday on an annual $1.1 million appropriation. Ahead of that vote, several council members urged state lawmakers to increase funding for prosecutors so that local governments are not forced to fill the gap.
