HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A former Horry County corrections officer will have to pay back thousands after being convicted of tax charges.
The South Carolina Department of Revenue said Taimar Thomas, 42, of Conway, pleaded guilty to one count of preparing a false or fraudulent return and one count of tax evasion.
A judge sentenced her to two years in prison, suspended, and ordered five years of probation. This means she will not go to prison right now and will instead be on probation for five years.
