If you ever drive along Route 44 through the south shore town of Rehoboth, you just might see an eccentric, red-headed man in woodlands clothing, hoping for a ride. If for whatever reason, you decide it’s a good idea to pick him up, you may see him glaring at you in the rearview mirror, which will likely prompt you to pull over, and usher him out. That is, unless, he just decides to run alongside your vehicle for as fast and long as he can.
And, what of the enigmatic pukwudgie, a being that appears in the stories of indigenous peoples, passed down for untold generations? Or a Worcester resident, who, in the early part of the 20th century, insisted he owned an air ship that, as far as anyone can tell, never actually existed?
