Pedestrian hit by car in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after a 40-year-old woman was struck by a car in Providence Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the incident happened around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Branch Avenue and Veazie Street. The woman briefly lost consciousness and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.
