(KRON) — A man who is suspected of spraying graffiti with the tag “Byes” around San Jose was arrested by detectives. Andrew Estrada, 21, of San Jose, is accused of causing more than $200,000 in damages from vandalism.
The San Jose Police Department said its Gang Investigations Unit detectives launched an investigation last year after receiving “numerous” reports from the public about graffiti marked with “Byes.”
“Graffiti tags, all using the moniker ‘Byes,’ were found on public walls, freeway overpasses, and abandoned buildings,” SJPD spokesperson Stacie Shih wrote. Police said Estrada caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages to public and private property.
