Wood County Sheriff’s Office announces Super Bowl weekend traffic blitz

WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday it would be conducting increased traffic patrols over the Super Bowl weekend.

In a press release, the sheriff’s office said the blitz would begin on Sunday, Feb. 8 and last through Monday, Feb. 9. A specific focus location was not provided.

The purpose of the enforcement period is to combat driving under the influence, failure to yield and speeding, the sheriff’s office said, adding that there will be “zero tolerance” for driving under the influence and seatbelt violations…
