There are just 13 days left until Paczki Day, and for National Bakery, this year is shaping up to be a big one.
As usual, the beloved Milwaukee bakery will be serving up tens of thousands of paczki in classic flavors like raspberry, prune, lemon and raisin. But this year, there’s a brand-new addition to the lineup that’s unmistakably Wisconsin: a Brandy Old Fashioned paczki created in collaboration with Central Standard Craft Distillery.
“With last year being our 100th anniversary, I’ve been talking with Jim [Kanter] and Evan [Hughes] about how we could work together,” says Bryant Krauss, co-owner of National Bakery. “As we talked, the idea of a Brandy Old Fashioned paczki came up. Ultimately, it’s so perfect for Wisconsin. And it’s perfect for Fat Tuesday.”…
