3D printed weapons seized in arrest of Buffalo teen

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo teen was arrested Tuesday for criminal possession of weapons, New York State police announced.

The arrest came after multiple 3D-printed weapons were seized by law enforcement at two Buffalo locations. Officials recovered a 3D printer, 3D printing filament, 6 lowers, 2 extended magazines, an upper slide and trigger mechanisms.

The 18-year-old man faces the following charges:

  • seven counts, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • two counts, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon

Authorities said the teen was transported to Buffalo Police Lockup for centralized arraignment.
