CLEVELAND (WJW) — A beloved Slavic Village neighborhood diner is moving to another city following a devastating fire last August.
The owners of Red Chimney Restaurant took to social media Wednesday to confirm they have plans to reopen, but not in their usual location, instead — Parma.

“Closing our doors here is bittersweet, but we’re grateful beyond words for the love and support from our amazing customers,” ownership wrote in the statement, explaining they tried everything possible to stay in the Fleet Avenue location they’d been in for decades, but it just wasn’t possible.
Money that was raised following the fire — which started in an apartment above the Cleveland restaurant — was divided up among employees, according to the statement.
“Please understand that this was not easy for anyone,” they wrote. “While we are moving forward with a new chapter, This community means too much to us to ever say ‘goodbye’ forever. This is not the end of Red Chimney — just a new chapter.
