Late Monday night, a person was struck and killed by the driver of a black SUV on North Wilson Road, near Enterprise Avenue. A press release issued by the Columbus Department of Police said that the driver remained on the scene and the pedestrian was transported to Grant Medical Center and pronounced dead just before midnight, about half an hour after the crash.
The release stated that the car was traveling southbound on Wilson, and that the “adult pedestrian was walking in the roadway.” Not mentioned is the fact that sidewalks on either side of the five-lane street are completely covered in dirty, hardened snow that was plowed into piles to clear the road.
