Welfare Fraud Investigation Leads to Arrest of Dunkirk Woman

A Dunkirk woman is facing charges following an investigation into welfare fraud. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says 43-year-old Kristina Beaujean was arrested Wednesday and charged with 4th-degree grand larceny, two counts of 1st-degree offering a false instrument for filing, 4th-degree welfare fraud, and misuse of food stamps. The investigation, in partnership with the Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene and Social Services Program Integrity Unit and the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office, found that Beaujean allegedly received more than $14,000 in unentitled SNAP benefits from January 2022 through August 2023.
