A Pennsylvania court has overturned a first-degree murder charge against a Corry woman found guilty of starving her two-year-old son to death.
In June, 26-year-old Kayle Mealy was sentenced to life in prison for intentionally neglecting and starving her son to death.

Mealy appealed that sentence, and on Tuesday, a PA Superior Court judge filed a majority opinion reversing the first-degree murder conviction, saying the evidence “is not sufficient to establish Mealy’s specific intent to kill her child.”
