The Pennsylvania Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Home commemorated the saga of the Four Chaplains this morning with a ceremony.
February 3, 2026, marked the 83rd anniversary of the sinking of troop ship USAT Dorchester after it was torpedoed.

There were 672 men who died that day, and the four chaplains gave up their own life jackets for other servicemen to survive.
During the ceremony, life jackets were laid out as the biographies of each man were read aloud.
