LANSING, Mich. — A former treasurer for the Michigan Democratic Party is facing charges for allegedly embezzling from a vulnerable adult.
Traci Kornak, a Grand Rapids lawyer and former member of Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s 2018 transition team, is charged with three felony counts:
- Count 1: Embezzlement from a vulnerable adult – $50,000 or more, but less than $100,000 (up to 15 years in prison and/or fines)
- Count 2: Embezzlement from a vulnerable adult – $1,000 or more, but less than $20,000 (up to five years in prison and/or fines)
- Count 3: False pretenses – $1,000 or more, but less than $20,000 (up to five years in prison and/or fines)
The charges stem from a conservatorship involving Rosalene Burd, a resident of the Heather Hills assisted living facility in Grand Rapids, according to court documents.
