HIGH POINT, N.C. — A High Point man was arrested this week in the murder of a woman in 2002. The case previously went unsolved for 24 years.
High Point police arrested 61-year-old Ricky Cox, charging him with second-degree murder. He’s alleged to have killed 51-year-old Betty Moore in her home on Coltrane Avenue on Oct. 13, 2002.
The arrest came after one of the original suspects gave new information to detectives. Detective D. Sellers with High Point police reopened the murder case in 2025, reviewed old files and interviewed Cox in November 2025…
