Memphis artists earn Grammy for Mississippi-based film

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis had a big night at the Grammys. Guitar legend Eric Gales is celebrating a win tied to the Clarksdale, Mississippi-based film ‘Sinners’, alongside Royal Studios owner Lawrence “Boo” Mitchell.

The two accepted the Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media during the 68th annual Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony on February 1 in Los Angeles.

‘Sinners’ also gained 16 nominations to the 98th Academy Awards, setting a record for the most in Oscar history. The 98th Academy Awards will take place on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles…
