MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WHNT) — Governor Kay Ivey has awarded grants worth a total of $4.5 million to groups that alleviate poverty and help low-income residents become economically self-sufficient.
The Community Services Block Grants will go to 18 community action agencies, which will provide services to community members who qualify for assistance.
“Many families and individuals experience hardships that leave them struggling to find their footing financially,” Gov. Ivey said. “These grants and programs will offer a hand up to people in need and guide them onto a path toward economic stability.”…
