NCDMV changes online appointments to limit scheduling to a week in advance

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — As the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles continues taking steps to improve efficiency and cut wait times, the state has made a change to the timeline for online appointments.

Drivers looking to book online will now only be able to do so a week in advance instead of three months. It’s the latest change at the DMV that hopes to positively impact customer experience.

“It allows us on the DMV side to be a little more nimble with adjusting our calendar and doing things like that,” DMV Communications Manager Marty Homan said. “Trying to divert demand to certain offices that may have more capacity, driving more appointments to them.”…
