One of our favorite spots in St. Pete is taking a one month break to make way for a tasty pop-up experience. Barbouni, the tinned fish and raw bar at Baba on Central, announced that it will take a pause for the month of February as the space becomes home to Barra-Barra, a Basque-inspired pintxos and cocktails pop-up experience.
Barra-Barra will not take reservations, instead focusing on the more casual style in which pintxos are meant to be enjoyed: “standing amongst friends, drink-in-hand and carefree.” In addition to pintxos (bite-sized appetizers often served on a toothpick), Barra-Barra will also serve Spanish-influenced cocktails and a selection of vermouth, ciders and wine.
Barra-Barra will be open Thursday to Saturday from 5-10 pm, and Sundays from 5 pm-1 am when it will host Hospitality Night. Barra-Barra is located at 2701 Central Ave. Baba on Central will continue its usual operations, with Barbouni returning in March after Barra-Barra’s pop-up residency…
