CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Two adults and a dog were displaced after a house fire on Vail Court in Chesapeake Tuesday afternoon, according to the Chesapeake Fire Department.
On Feb. 3 at around 3:19 p.m., the department responded to a report of a fire in the 1200 block of Vail Court. When Engine Company 14 arrived to the scene, they saw smoke coming from the back of the house. After investigating it, firefighters realized the back of the house was on fire ever since before they arrived.
Crews used multiple hose lines to make sure the fire was fully extinguished. Crews declared the fire to be out by 3:33 p.m.
Two people and a dog evacuated the house before the department arrived. As the three have now been displaced due to the extent of the damage to the home, they will be making their own lodging arrangements.
