Employee dies after incident at The Andersons grain facility in Canada

MAUMEE, Ohio — Maumee-based The Andersons says one of their employees has died after an incident at one of their Canadian grain facilities.

The incident, characterized as an ‘industrial accident’ on the employee’s obituary happened Monday at the company’s Kent Bridge facility about 70 miles east of Detroit.

In a company-wide email shared with WTOL 11, Andersons Executive Vice President Weston Heide told employees, “Safety remains a core value of the company, and we are fully committed to understanding what happened in this situation. Thank you for your compassion and for supporting one another during this time.”…
