The Miami Beach Mayor is delivering the first “State of the City’ address of his second term tonight. Steven Meiner says the state of the city is strong. Miami Beach has “broken up” with Spring Break by imposing curfews and a heavy police presence. This year it’s focusing on health and wellness in wake of the security crack down. Miami Beach has seen an 18% reduction in crime, resort taxes are up, the millage rate is down, and the city has its highest reserve in history.
