Two People Arrested on Drug and Burglary Charges in Lafayette County

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo – A Kansas City woman and a Warsaw man are facing numerous charges in Lafayette County.

According to a probable cause statement, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department received a call Friday morning from a property owner who saw a man and a woman quickly leave his property. The property owner determined that the pair had stolen an outside air conditioning unit. A sheriff deputy attempted to pursue the suspect’s vehicle on Highway E, but failed to catch up.

Higginsville Police arrested both 49-year-old Robert Daniel Turner and 37-year-old Micheale Lee Blay later in the morning. A search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of hand tools, a service plate, copper tubing, copper electrical wiring, and two large yellow ratchet straps. The copper wiring was determined to have been taken from the residence earlier in the day. A bag, a glass pipe and a digital scale all with methamphetamine residue were also located.
