LUBBOCK, Texas–In January, Jerry Hinojosa was taken to the hospital by his family due to symptoms of an illness. Doctors conducted tests and determined that he had strep throat. However, after receiving treatment, his condition worsened to the point where he could no longer walk.
“He just started getting worse and worse, and he was really pale and really dizzy, where he couldn’t even walk anymore. So I took him back to the doctor again,” Cathleen Hinojosa, mother of Jerry Hinojosa, said.
