LUBBOCK, Texas (KWTX) – On February 3, 1959, a plane crash would claim the lives of three rising rock and roll stars in the music group, The Crickets.

Lubbock, Texas native, Buddy Holly, along with Ritchie Valens and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson, took off after a show in Iowa, headed to their next tour stop.

Minutes later, their small plane crashed in a snowy field, killing everyone on board…
