Minneapolis man charged in Scheels theft

A Minneapolis man is charged with gross misdemeanor theft after allegedly stealing clothing valued at $750 from Scheels in Eden Prairie, according to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court.

David Deandre Perkins, 29, is accused of taking six Nike Tech clothing items from the store on Jan. 7 without paying. The items included joggers and jackets, the complaint states.

According to the complaint, Perkins entered Scheels shortly before 6:45 p.m., selected the merchandise and exited the store through the main entrance without going through a checkout lane.
