Ordinance could add new cost for short-term rental operators

ST. LOUIS – A proposed ordinance moving through St. Louis City Hall could soon add new costs for short-term rental operators.

The city feels there’s not enough regulation in the business, while small business owners say they’re being bled dry by these bills.

In the first week of February, the Board of Aldermen committee advanced Bill 126, a legislation that would require operators to obtain a city business license and pay a 3% fee on rent charged (due quarterly).
