ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque’s latest affordable housing complex is officially open. Tuesday, city and state officials held a grand opening for the Route 66 Flats, near Central and Unser.

The complex has 47 one-bedroom units for those with disabilities, mental or behavioral needs, or those who earn less than 30% of the area median income. All the residents’ one-bedroom apartments will have access to community space, a shared laundry area, seating areas for gatherings, and meeting rooms for supportive services. An enclosed outdoor space will offer residents a patio, pet area, and outdoor seating. There will also be a large community garden on the south end of the property.
