LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nevada lawmakers reviewed allegations of Boring Co. workers getting crushed, crashing forklifts, and unintentionally causing a Las Vegas freeway closure. Representatives for the multibillion-dollar company did not attend.
A Tuesday hearing held by the Nevada Joint Interim Standing Committee on Growth and Infrastructure reviewed 17 complaints and referrals and eight inspections made at Elon Musk’s The Boring Co. (TBC) Vegas Loop project sites.

The Boring Co. did not attend the hearing, and instead legislative officials directed their questions to representatives of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry and affiliated agencies, which oversee TBC.
“This is a company that’s valued at $7 billion in 2023,” Nevada Assem. Howard Watts (D-Las Vegas) said. “But they could not provide any staff to come to our meeting and answer questions from this committee about their history of violations.”
The Boring Co. sent a seven-page response to the committee regarding the safety guidelines—but did not provide a plan— and cited legal memos.
