2 Dogs, Mickey And Minnie, Seized After Being Found Chained Up In The Snow

Authorities in North Carolina say two dogs were seized over the weekend after a tipster reported seeing them chained up outside in the snow without adequate shelter.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control said a 311 caller on Jan. 31 reported seeing two dogs tethered outdoors during a snowstorm without shelter, food or water. Animal Control Officers Caffray and Salvati responded to the property and took photos of the dogs chained up in heavy snow.

Now named Mickey and Minnie, the dogs were safely removed, and remain in the care of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control. The agency said a seizure letter was issued and intent to forfeit ownership rights was documented…
