Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon announced in a Monday X post that the department’s Civil Rights Division would investigate what she described as an “awful crime,” tagging Attorney General Pam Bondi.

“The Civil Rights Division does not tolerate violence or destruction of property motivated by religious animus,” Dhillon told The Washington Examiner on Tuesday, saying the “rise in anti-Christian bias across the country in recent years demonstrates the importance of robust enforcement of our civil rights laws.”
