Woman’s remains found in 2018 identified, Nashville police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Metro Nashville Police Department said the remains of a woman found in 2018 have now been identified.

MNPD said the remains were discovered by a driver on the side of Sulphur Creek Road on September 9, 2018. The body was reportedly in “an advanced state of decomposition” and was dressed in a black sweatshirt and athletic pants with the Vanderbilt University emblem on them.

The woman has been identified as Yadezia Jones, of Nashville. MNPD reported that she would have been 25 years old at the time her body was found.

In 2018, MNPD and the Medical Examiner’s Office were not able to identify Jones…
